PARIS, November 21, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestine Thursday affirmed the need for the international community to immediately halt the Israeli genocidal aggression on the Palestinian people.
Speaking during the 34th session of the Intergovernmental Council of the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC), held on November 21-22 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh highlighted the need for the international community along with UN organizations to take immediate action to stop the ongoing Israeli genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Abu Rudeineh called for international media to intensify their efforts to expose the practices and crimes committed by the occupation authorities.
He emphasized the gravity of the ferocious Israeli aggression against Palestinians at all levels as well as the importance of showing solidarity with Palestine in line with the UN resolutions.
He urged worldwide countries to severe their relations with the Israeli occupation in light of Israel’s ongoing campaign of settler colonialism, failure to comply with international law and the UN resolutions, particularly the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) advisory opinion, which founded that Israel's decades-long occupation of the Palestinian territories was "unlawful", and that its "near-complete separation" of people in the occupied West Bank breached international laws concerning "racial segregation" and "apartheid."
He reiterated that there would be no solution to all regional issues except by solving the Palestinian question based on international law, the UN resolutions and the Arab Peace through establishing the independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
IPDC is slated to adopt on Friday a resolution that would include a condemnation of the targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists and media personnel by the Israeli occupation.
