AMMAN, November 2, 2024 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas has received an invitation from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to participate in the extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Follow-Up Summit, set to take place in Riyadh on November 11.
The invitation was presented during a meeting on Saturday evening at the President's residence in Amman, Jordan, with the Saudi non-resident ambassador to Palestine and consul general in Jerusalem, Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi.
The meeting was attended by the President’s diplomatic advisor, Majdi Khaldi, and the Palestinian ambassador to Jordan, Attallah Khairi.
This summit aims to take a firm stance against the heinous crimes committed against the Palestinian people and the ongoing Israeli violations of holy sites in Palestine.
It also seeks to reinforce Arab and Islamic solidarity in efforts to halt the Israeli aggression in both Palestine and Lebanon and to advocate for a just solution to the Palestinian issue, ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
