Presidency: Israel has become more isolated and rejected on the international stage

RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 8, 2024 (WAFA) – Thanks to its aggressive policies, Israel has become more isolated and rejected on the international stage, Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated on Thursday.

Abu Rudeineh said that Israel has entered the stage of being internationally isolated and rejected as a result of its aggressive policies and total disregard of the United Nations resolutions and international law.

Commenting on supremacist Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich’s remarks that letting two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip die of hunger might be “justified and moral” and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs decision to cancel the travel visas of the Norwegian diplomatic mission operating in the Palestinian territories, Abu Rudeineh slammed these measures as “provocative behaviours” intended to defy the world, and, thus, all worldwide countries are required to intervene to compel the Israeli occupation to halt its aggression and adhere to the UN resolutions.

He considered Smotrich’s remarks tantamount to a war crime, for which Israeli leaders, who are perpetrating bloody massacres against Palestinian defenceless civilians, all with the support of the United States, which brags about aiding, abetting and shielding the Israeli occupation from being held accountable.

He referred to the successive international condemnations of Israel for its crimes and aggression against the Palestinian people and territories as well as for violating all international laws and norms, in addition to Nagasaki’s mayor Shiro Suzuki’s decision not to invite Israel to the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony, intended to mark the 79th anniversary of the US atomic bomb attacks on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, as evidence that Israel, the occupying state, has become an international pariah.

He reiterated that it was timely now not only to compel Israel to halt its genocidal aggression and comply with international law immediately, but also to recognize the State of Palestine as a means to preserve the two-state solution while calling on the US to compel Israel to halt the genocidal war it has unscrupulously unleashed against Gaza.
