Presidency: US administration bears responsibility for the bloodbath in al-Mawasi

RAMALLAH, Saturday, July 13, 2024 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesperson for President Mahmoud Abbas, has directly blamed the US administration for the deadly Israeli massacre this morning in the Al-Mawasi area south of the Gaza Strip. The attack resulted in the killing and injuries of over 350 civilians, including children and women.

"The US administration bears the responsibility for this heinous massacre, which claimed the lives of hundreds of our children, women, and elderly," stated Abu Rudeineh.

He added that the administration "persists in violating all international legitimacy resolutions by continuously providing financial and military support to this [Israeli] occupation that commits bloody massacres against our people every day."

Abu Rudeineh highlighted that the Israeli occupation "continues to disregard international humanitarian and legal norms by perpetrating war crimes and acts of genocide against Gaza residents." He emphasized that the airstrikes directly targeted the tents of displaced persons in Al-Mawasi, where tens of thousands of civilians are sheltered.

The presidential spokesperson pointed out that "without blind and biased US support, this occupation would not be able to continue its bloody crimes against the Palestinian people, defying international legitimacy and the rulings of international courts that have called for an end to the aggression and protection for the Palestinian people."

Abu Rudeineh called upon the UN Security Council and the international community "to intervene immediately to stop these bloody massacres and compel the occupation authorities to immediately cease all these actions that violate all international legitimacy resolutions."
