RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 11, 2024 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas has awarded Ambassador Torunn Viste of the Kingdom of Norway the Star of Friendship medal upon the completion of her tenure in Palestine.

During a reception today at the Presidential compound in Ramallah, President Abbas honored Ambassador Viste in recognition of her outstanding role in enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Palestine and Norway. 

The medal symbolizes appreciation for her efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and advocating for their just cause of achieving freedom and independence.

Ambassador Viste expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated Norway's commitment to continuing its support for the Palestinian people in their aspirations towards freedom and independence.
