GAZA, Saturday, June 15, 2024 (WAFA) – Rescue teams today retrieved the bodies of nine Palestinians from various parts of Rafah in the southern war-torn Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

Medical sources at the European Hospital in Khan Younes said that the bodies of nine people retrieved from the rubble of houses bombarded by the Israeli occupation forces across Rafah arrived at the hospital.

Since Saturday dawn, 19 Palestinians were killed and at least 50 others were injured in Israeli airstrikes that targeted three houses in the Shuja'iyya and Tuffah neighbourhoods, east of Gaza, at a time when Israeli artillery intensified shelling of the areas west of Rafah.

Tried before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 37,266 Palestinians and injuring over 85,102 others.

Moreover, approximately 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
