Civilian killed, others injured in Israeli bombardment of southern and central Gaza

GAZA, Sunday, May 12, 2024 (WAFA) - A civilian was killed and several others were injured in the Israeli bombardment of the city of Rafah and the Bureij refugee camp in the southern and central Gaza Strip, respectively.

Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians in the southern part of the city of Rafah, killing one civilian and wounding three others.

Several civilians were also injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted a medical center in the Bureij refugee camp.

The number of people killed since the onset of the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, has reached 35,034, most of whom were children and women. Around 78,755 people have been wounded.

Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble, or scattered on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them.

Casualty data in Gaza are incomplete due to the intensive Israeli aggression, the repeated and complete interruption of communication and internet services, lack of fuel and devastated infrastructure, which render it difficult to document figures.
