WARSAW, Saturday, April 6, 2024 (WAFA) - The Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behaviour in Poland lodged a complaint yesterday with the Polish Prosecutor General in Warsaw against Israeli Ambassador to Poland, Yacov Livne, over suspicion of committing a crime by disseminating racist content.
According to the center, it analyzed the content recently published by the Israeli ambassador and has "grounds to believe that the man committed extremely serious crimes that should be investigated by the Polish Prosecutor's Office."
The center cited recent statements made by the Israeli ambassador in a televised interview last Wednesday, where he accused Polish politicians of anti-Semitism and made racist remarks about Palestinians, labeling them as "barbarians".
These remarks sparked an unprecedented wave of condemnation in Poland, leading to the summoning of the ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The center stated that the Israeli ambassador did indeed commit a prohibited act described in Article 255 of the Penal Code, which is praising prohibited actions, and acted in accordance with Article 256 of the Penal Code when inciting hatred against people of Polish origin on the basis of national differences.
Furthermore, the center emphasized that in their opinion, the Israeli ambassador committed a prohibited act under Article 255 of the Penal Code, i.e., praising prohibited actions, and violated Article 256 of the Penal Code by inciting hatred based on national differences against people of Polish origin.
The center continued by highlighting recent incidents where the Israeli army killed a Polish citizen and several other innocent civilians, which it classified as war crimes, prompting their suspicion of a crime in this case.
