GAZA, Saturday, September 23, 2023 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian protesters were wounded by live ammunition while others suffered from tear gas inhalation this evening as Israeli occupation forces targeted nonviolent protesters along the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
WAFA correspondent said Israeli occupation soldiers stationed in their fortified positions along the border fired live shots and toxic tear gas canisters towards dozens of youths who were demonstrating near the border fence east of Gaza City. This resulted in the injury of two Palestinians, whose condition was described as stable.
For the eighth consecutive day, peaceful marches continue in various locations east of the Gaza Strip in protest of the Israeli blockade imposed on Gaza and the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, as well as against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention.
The protests in Gaza have become a recurring feature as Palestinians voice their discontent over the blockade, which has been in place for over 17 years. The people of Gaza continue to endure dire living conditions and restricted access to basic necessities, a situation compounded by the periodic Israeli attacks.
