Palestinian prisoner from Jenin completes 19 years in Israeli jail

JENIN, Thursday, September 15, 2022 (WAFA) - A Palestinian prisoner completed today 19 years behind Israeli bars, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

The director of PPS in Jenin, Montaser Sammour, told WAFA prisoner Nahar al-Saadi, 41, from Jenin city, was detained on September 15, 2003, and sentenced to four lifetimes and 20 years in jail for resisting the occupation.

Saadi was placed in solitary confinement for prolonged periods, which left him suffering from various diseases, including bone pain, sprained spine, and problems in the stomach and colon.

According to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, the number of Palestinian prisoners currently incarcerated in Israeli jails is about 4650, including 32 women, 180 minors, 500 sick prisoners, and 743 administrative detainees. A total of 551 prisoners are serving various life terms.
