RAMALLAH, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained at least 15 Palestinians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, 11 of them from Qalqilya, and ransacked several houses during raids, according to local and security sources.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said the Israeli army detained 11 Palestinians ranging in age between 22 and 63 years from the city of Qalqilya in the north of the occupied West Bank.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, soldiers detained a Palestinian man after breaking into and searching his family house in Deir Abu Mash'al village, northwest of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops detained another after ransacking his house in Tubas city as reported by the local PPS office.
In Nablus district, soldiers conducted a raid in Qusra town, south of the city, where they detained another and searched several houses, causing havoc to them.
They also raided Tell village, west of Nablus, where they ransacked several houses, tampering with their contents. None was detained though.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli troops entered Bethlehem city and ransacked at least three houses. The raid triggered confrontations, but neither detentions nor injuries were reported.
In Hebron district, the sources confirmed a similar raid in Beit Ummar town, north of the city, resulting in the detention of a 17-year-old youth.
Soldiers also raided Halhul and Sair towns, north and east of Hebron, respectively, where they thoroughly searched several houses and caused destruction to their contents.
