RAMALLAH, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday overnight detained at least five Palestinians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
They confirmed that Israeli police rounded up a Palestinian after breaking into his house in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur.
In the northern Jordan Valley, Aref Daraghmeh, a human rights activist, said that Israeli forces detained a resident of Khirbet al-Farisiya, east of Tubas city.
In Ramallah district, the sources confirmed that Israeli troops barged their way into al-Bireh city, where they detained a doctor after physically assaulting him.
Meanwhile, two Palestinians were arrested as they attempted to cross Za‘tara military checkpoint, south of Nablus city. They were identified as residents of Jenin city.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
