RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 25, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestinian siblings, Ibrahim and Mohammad Ighbariya, will on Friday begin their 30th year in Israeli imprisonment, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
It said in a press statement that the Ighbariya brothers, both Palestinian citizens of Israel, have been detained in Israeli prisons since February 26, 1992, when they were detained and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The two veteran prisoners were among 30 prisoners whom the Israeli occupation authorities reneged on the promise to release them as part of the fourth batch of prisoners Israel was supposed to free in March 2014 in a US-brokered deal.
Ibrahim, 55, has earned an MA degree and composed four books while in Israeli detention. His brother, Mohammad, 52, has also obtained an MA degree and wrote a book in detention.
