RAMALLAH, August 4, 2013 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian
Arabic dailies Sunday highlighted three news stories which are Barcelona
Football team visit to Palestine, the Peace talks and the release of 26
Palestinian prisoners.
Al-Ayyam reported on FC Barcelona football team’s visit to
the West Bank, during which the team met with president Mahmoud Abbas, visited
the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and later held a clinic for local
children in Hebron.
The paper printed photo of the Barcelona’s star Lionel Messi
coaching a number of Palestinian girls in uniform in a training session at the
Dura stadium.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida front page headline read: “President
receives FC Barcelona: Next time, you will come to celebrate peace.”
Al-Quds highlighted the Palestinian Leadership confirming
that it will not accept any interim solutions and will put all files on the
[negotiations] table.”
Al-Ayyam headline read: “America looks towards a peace
agreement by the end of April,” and said: “The release of 26 of pre-Oslo
accords prisoners on August 13.”
Al-Hayat al-Jadida noted that 26 prisoners will be released
to form the first of four stages of releasing Palestinian prisoners as a
“gesture of goodwill.”
