GAZA, January 22, 2012 (WAFA) - Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) donated food and medicine to UNRWA to be distributed to poor refugees in the Gaza Strip, said UNRWA press release issued on Thursday.

It said, “The contribution comprises 9 tons of rice, 30 tons of flour, and 2.08 tons of sunflower oil. In addition, ERC has sent a consignment of 20 cartons of medicine for use in UNRWA’s health centers in Gaza.”

UNRWA Commissioner General, Filippo Grandi welcomed this contribution, stating “this donation demonstrates once again the steadfast support of the Egyptian people for the people of the Gaza Strip.”
