Abbas, Erdogan Open Palestinian Ambassadors Conference in Istanbul

RAMALLAH, July 23, 2011 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas and the Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saturday opened the second Palestinian Ambassadors Conference in Istanbul.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey, Nabil Ma’rouf, said that foreign minister Riyad Malki will supervise the convention which will discuss that latest Palestinian preparation for seeking United Nations recognition of a Palestinian state within 1967 borders in September.

All of the Palestinian ambassadors, along with a number of Palestinian officials, attended the conference which coincides with the fourth Palestinian Culture Week in the Turkish cities of Istanbul and Urfa.

During his visit to Turkey, Abbas will meet Erdogan and a number of Turkish officials following the convention.
