Israeli Army, Settlers Attack Palestinian Properties

WEST BANK, July 5, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli army bulldozers Tuesday demolished a water well belonging to a Palestinian farmer in Al-Khader, a town south of Bethlehem, on land near the Jewish settlement of Efrat, according to Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture spokesman Awad Abu Sawy.

Abu Sawy said that these escalated Israeli measures aim to displace the owners of the land and seize it for the purpose of settlement expansion.

Meanwhile, Jewish settlers from Yitzhar, a Jewish settlement built on the land of Madama, a Palestinian village south of Nablus, set fire to agricultural lands belonging to Palestinian farmers from the village.

Head of Madama village council, Ihab Al Qut, told WAFA that a group of settlers set fire to agricultural land southwest of the village and are still present at the site in a jeep belonging to them.
