Israel Aggravates Strict Procedures against Prisoners

RAMALLAH, June 27, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian Prisoners Club Monday said that the Israeli prison’s administration is aggravating its strict procedures against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, according to a press release.

It said that the prisons administration has isolated seven different prisoners. “They were put in solitary confinement and moved from their original prisons to other ones.”

Prisoners club said that Atef Wredat entered his 17th days hunger and medicine strike in a row after the Israeli Prisons administration promised him not to put him back in Askalan Prison. Nevertheless, he started his strike when they sent him back again.

Wredat suffers a number of diseases such as Heart diseases; due to humidity in Askalan Prison he got even sicker.

Prisoners club said that the health of the prisoner Riyad al- Amouri is getting worse by the minute; “He gets regular coma’s in which his brain and heart stop functioning, and he gets no prober treatment.”

“He was moved to a Hospital but they handcuffed him all the time. He signed papers to go back to prison after having visions that he is going to die and he would much rather die in prison among his friends than in that Hospital,” it said.

Al-Amouri asked to be examined by a specialist on his own expense but his request was denied. He is currently in a horrible health condition.
