JERICHO, June 19, 2011 (WAFA) – Saeb Erekat, member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee and chief negotiator, said Sunday that the US has not made any offers to date to President Mahmoud Abbas to resume negotiations.
Erekat, during individual meetings with Swedish Minister of International Development Cooperation, Gunilla Carlsson and Japanese envoy to the peace process, Yutaka Iimura, said US Special Envoy for Middle East Peace, David Hale, only indicated that Obama’s administration will try to find a way to resume final negotiations in accordance with Obama’s speech.
Abbas stressed to Hale that resuming negotiations required the Israeli government’s acceptance of a two-state solution on 1967 borders with minor land exchange and ending all settlement activities, including those in
