MAJDAL SHAMS, June 7, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli police Tuesday at dawn arrested three Syrian youth from Majdal Shams, a village in the occupied Golan Heights, for throwing stones at the army during Sunday’s Naksa protests, according to local sources.
The Syrian youth were arrested for protesting against Israeli firing at Palestinians and Syrians who tried to cross the Syrian borders with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Sunday, the day marking the Naksa, and which left 23 people dead and more than 350 injured.
Israeli security sources said the army is on full alert at the northern borders. It has imposed a security closure on the West Bank and Gaza Strip to prevent Palestinians from entering Israel.
