President Abbaas: We Support Egyptian Efforts to Achieve Calm

 

 

AMMAN, May 01, 2008, (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed on Thursday his support for Egyptian efforts to achieve calm, expressing the hope that these efforts be succeeded.

 

President said in a statement to Palestinian television after his departure from Jordanian hospital after he subjected to a successful catheter that We since the very beginning proposed to Israelis the issue of calm and to all factions and the Egyptian brothers, adding that the Minister Omar Suleiman will visit Israel and will discuss the Israelis what he heard from the factions and as for us we support all Egyptian efforts without any reservation.

 

'To get calm and end the siege and open the crossings for all the Palestinian people, this is our goal and that what we seek from the beginning,' President added.

 

As for his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and meeting with the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, President Abbas said that' there must be coordinated Arab positions and that is our goal. These are Arab countries which are dealing with the peace process and which are receiving and visiting America must consolidate their positions in all fields, particularly the Palestinian issue.'
