LIMA, January 12, 2007, (WAFA)- Instituto Prensa y Sociedad (IPYS) welcomed the release of Peruvian journalist and photographer for Agence France Presse, Jaime Razuri, who was released unharmed last Sunday after having been held in captivity for seven days in Gaza.

In a press release issued Friday, IPYS emphasised the importance and decisiveness of the immediate reaction of Peruvian and international journalists, media and organisations that work for the defence of journalists, to the achievement of this most fortunate outcome.

IPYS is a Latin American non-governmental organization that bases its work on the promotion of independent journalism and the protection of journalists in dangerous situations.
