Israeli settlers’ destruction of Palestinian property continues with the axing of 70 olive trees

HEBRON, Monday, July 13, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers continued today their carnage in the occupied West Bank with the cutting down of 70 fully grown olive trees in the town of Sair, in the south of the West Bank, said the owner of the land and trees Yousef Jaradat.

He told WAFA that settlers from the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba sneaked into his land and chopped 70 olive trees all more than 20 years old.

He said Sair residents attempted to fend off the settlers while Israeli soldiers intervened to protect the settlers and attacked instead the Palestinian villagers.

Jaradat said his land and trees and other lands in the same area have been a regular target of the settlers in the last years in their efforts to take over that land.

Olive trees are one of the main sources of income for thousands of Palestinian families in the Israeli occupied territories.
