RAMALLAH, Sunday, January 06, 2019 (WAFA) – A low pressure is affecting the region on Sunday and temperature is expected to significantly drop. Partially cloudy skies prevail in the early morning, with increasing cloudiness, sporadic rain and occasional thunderstorms and hail. Wind gusts are expected to reach 80 km/h.
Wind is southwesterly to westerly, active and gusty at times. Sea waves are active, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Temperature in Jerusalem is expected to reach a high of 9°C and a low of 4°C and in Ramallah and Bethlehem, a high of 8°C and a low of 3°C. Temperature in Hebron is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 3°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 9°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 8°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
No change in temperature is expected for Monday with a chance of rain showers especially in the northern areas.
Rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected to resume on Tuesday during the day in the northern districts to reach all areas by nighttime as temperature remains the same.
Rain, thunderstorms and hail are also expected for Wednesday yet with a further drop in temperature.
PMD warns people against gusty winds, especially on Sunday, floods in valleys and low areas, low visibility due to fog formation and low clouds, and slippery roads.
