RAMALLAH, September 16, 2026 (WAFA) — The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said on Wednesday that Israeli prison authorities canceled lawyers’ visits scheduled for Palestinian detainees, informing legal teams of the decision upon their arrival at prison entrances without providing any explanation for the cancellations.

The commission and the society said the decision prevented the scheduled legal visits from taking place, depriving detainees of access to their lawyers and the ability to follow up on their conditions and legal cases.

They also informed the families of prisoners who were scheduled to be visited by legal teams today that the visits would not take place. The families will be notified of any developments regarding the rescheduling of the canceled visits.
