RAMALLAH, August 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Seven Lebanese citizens were killed and three others wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the southern town of Ansar early Saturday morning.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that rescue teams were working to clear the rubble and recover the bodies and injured, transporting them to hospitals in Nabatieh.
The agency said that Israeli forces escalated their attacks on southern Lebanon since dawn, with warplanes carrying out a series of airstrikes targeting the Ali al-Taher hill on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Two airstrikes also hit the vicinity of the Teachers' Training College and the Husseiniya in Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
The agency added that Israeli forces continued their efforts to destroy what remained of the infrastructure in the city of Bint Jbeil and several neighboring villages. Early Saturday morning, they demolished a number of houses in the city and fired heavy machine guns at houses along the Qounine-Saf al-Hawa road.
