HEBRON, May 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Settlers attacked Palestinian local residents and their property on Saturday in several areas across the Hebron Governorate under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhameh told WAFA that dozens of colonists chased the family of Ziad Mur while they were harvesting their land in Khirbet Munizel in Masafer Yatta, and stole their agricultural equipment.
He added that colonists assaulted a foreign activist in the Khallat al-Homs area south of Yatta while she was documenting their attack on the property of the Abed al-Masri family. They also released their cattle onto Palestinian-owned land, damaging trees and crops.
In a related incident, Israeli troops raided Khirbet Sadda al-Tha'la in Masafer Yatta, searched homes and livestock pens, detained residents, restricted their movement within the village, and assaulted them.
In the Wadi Sa'ir area, colonists destroyed olive trees belonging to Nizam Taleb Shalalda.
In the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, Israeli forces detained farmers Abdul Rahman Tamiza and Adli al-Sura and physically assaulted them, causing moderate injuries and bruises. The attacks coincided with colonists grazing their sheep on Palestinian-owned land east of the town and preventing the landowners from accessing their property.
Medical sources also reported that dozens of colonists severely beat a Palestinian woman in the town of Bani Na'im, east of Hebron, causing her injuries and bruises throughout her body. Red Crescent teams later transferred her to the hospital for medical treatment.
