GAZA, May 23, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached  72,783, mostly women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023, according to medical sources. At least 172,779 others have also been injured.

This toll remains incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews.

Medical sources said that during the past 24 hours, eight slain Palestinians and 29 injured individuals were brought to hospitals in Gaza.

Since the ceasefire went into effect on October 11, 2025, the number of those killed and injured has reached 890 and 2,677, respectively. At least 776 bodies have also been recovered from under the rubble.
