SALFIT, May 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided, on Friday evening, the town of Deir Ballut west of Salfit and fired tear gas canisters at farmers and visitors in the town’s plain area, according to local sources.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces deployed throughout the plain area and obstructed the movement of citizens while large numbers of farmers and visitors were present in the area.
The occupation forces continue to tighten their military measures in the Deir Ballut plain, particularly during the season of a special local cucumber variety, which constitutes a main source of livelihood for farmers and is highly anticipated by residents each year.
