Occupation forces evict 11 homes near Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, March 25, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities evicted 11 homes in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, on Wednesday.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that occupation forces stormed the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in the town and evicted 11 inhabited homes belonging to the Rajabi family, housing approximately 65 residents.

These included four apartments belonging to the Yaqoub family and his brothers, one apartment belonging to the Rizq Salah family, five belonging to the Nidal Rajabi family and his brothers, and one apartment belonging to Fathi Rajabi. The evictions were carried out with the aim of seizing the properties for the benefit of settler organizations.

This occurred simultaneously with the occupation forces' seizure of two apartments in the town belonging to the Basbous family.

The Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan is witnessing a dangerous escalation in land seizures and forced evictions, as part of a broad settler plan aimed at altering the demographic character of the area and forcibly imposing a Judaized reality, in flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions.
