RAMALLAH, February 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Detainees Affairs Commission warned today of the deteriorating conditions of sick and injured Palestinian prisoners in the clinic of Israel’s Ramla Prison, citing delays by prison authorities in transferring them to hospitals for tests and treatment, which endangers their lives.
The commission noted that prisoners also suffer from poor-quality food, overcrowding in the yard, and a shortage of essential supplies, exacerbating their daily hardships and increasing the risk of health neglect.
Over the years, families and advocacy groups have documented cases where delayed or denied medical treatment in Israeli prisons resulted in serious complications, revealing systemic neglect that violates international standards for prisoner care.
