RAMALLAH, February 3, 2026 (WAFA) – The Detainees Affairs Commission said on Tuesday that the situation of prisoners in Negev Prison is extremely harsh.
Detailing their daily suffering, the prisoners stated that they are subjected to beatings, insults, and searches almost daily, and most are transferred to solitary confinement cells every day.
Regarding food, the quantities are meager, and the prison administration has imposed a limit of one plate and one cup per prisoner, in addition to imposing hefty fines.
Meanwhile, prisoner Mu'min Husam al-Din Touqan, 36, from Jenin, who was detained on July 8, 2025, is suffering from scabies and fungal infections all over his body. The Negev Prison administration is refusing to provide him with the necessary treatment, not even painkillers. He is also suffering from malnutrition and has lost 15 kilograms.
