RAMALLAH, January 25, 2026 (WAFA) – The ICRC facilitated the transfer of seven released detainees from the Karam Abu Salem crossing to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and assisted in their communication and reunification with their families.

The ICRC noted that it has been unable to access detainees held in Israeli detention centers since October 2023. It stressed the need to be informed of the fate and whereabouts of all detainees and to be granted access to them.

It emphasized that international humanitarian law requires detainees to be treated humanely, provided with acceptable detention conditions, and allowed to communicate with their families. It added that many Palestinian families are anxiously awaiting news of their detained loved ones and are deeply concerned for their health and safety.

The ICRC continues its dialogue with the Israeli authorities to resume its visits to all Palestinian detainees.
