JERUSALEM, December 30, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian man was shot and wounded by Israeli forces on Tuesday near the separation wall in the town of Al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem, as he attempted to reach his workplace inside the 1948 territories.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported in a brief statement that the young man was shot in the foot with live ammunition and was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.
Al-Ram has witnessed frequent injuries among Palestinians in recent months, as Israeli forces frequently open live ammunition and rubber-coated bullets at young men and workers near the apartheid wall, amidst tightened security measures and daily harassment that threaten their lives.
More than 500,000 Palestinian workers have lost their livelihoods since October 7, 2023, and unemployment rates have exceeded 50% in the West Bank, reaching approximately 44% in besieged areas, particularly those most frequently targeted by military checkpoints and closed military zones, according to the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions.
Additionally, 44 workers were killed and hundreds injured by live fire from Israeli forces in their workplaces, or while being pursued on their way to work, and near the apartheid wall, while more than 34,000 workers were arrested in the past 26 months.
