NEW YORK, December 17, 2025 (WAFA) — The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Wednesday renewed its call for the immediate entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, amid the worsening impact of harsh weather conditions.
In a statement posted on X, the agency said severe weather is further aggravating the already dire living conditions of thousands of people sheltering in tents or damaged homes.
UNRWA said that while it continues to support displaced families, Israeli authorities have for months prevented the agency from directly delivering humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
The agency reported deaths caused by the collapse of damaged buildings where families had taken shelter, as well as the deaths of children due to extreme cold.
UNRWA stressed that the current situation must come to an end, calling for the immediate and large-scale entry of humanitarian aid to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
