UNRWA continues humanitarian role in Gaza despite challenges

GAZA, October 31, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed that it continues to carry out its vital humanitarian work in the Gaza Strip despite the difficult conditions facing residents.

UNRWA said on X that its schools in Gaza still serve as safe shelters for displaced families, with classrooms converted into temporary homes. Its teams of social workers continue to provide protection, psychosocial support, and assistance to help affected residents rebuild their lives with dignity.

More than 12,000 UNRWA staff in Gaza work daily in education, healthcare, and the provision of essential aid to displaced persons. The agency emphasized that every lesson, medical consultation, water distribution, and waste collection is carried out by its dedicated personnel, demonstrating that UNRWA continues its mission despite the challenges.
