Israeli troops raid homes of prisoners set to be released in upcoming exchange deal

NABLUS, October 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces carried out raids early Sunday morning targeting the homes of several Palestinian prisoners expected to be released as part of an upcoming prisoner exchange deal, according to Palestinian security and local sources.

In Nablus, military vehicles stormed multiple neighborhoods within the city, the Balata and Askar Al-Jadid refugee camps, as well as the towns of Salem to the east, and Aqraba and Zeita Jamma’in to the south.

Sources said that Israeli soldiers raided and searched the homes of prisoners due for release, tampered with their contents, and issued threats to family members, warning them against holding any celebrations.

Similar raids were carried out in Hebron and the nearby town of Deir Samet. Local sources reported that Israeli forces stormed several neighborhoods in Hebron city, raiding the homes of prisoners. In Deir Samet, the home of one prisoner was searched and ransacked.

Late Thursday night, the Israeli government officially approved a ceasefire agreement in Gaza proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, signaling the start of the first phase of a broader plan. The deal includes a prisoner exchange deal, ending all hostilities, a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and facilitating humanitarian aid.
