GAZA, September 14, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Sunday that the Gaza Strip has become a "wasteland" and "completely obliterated" as a result of the escalating Israeli offensive in the region.
In a post on X, UNRWA stated: "Gaza is being completely obliterated. It's becoming a wasteland, and seems to become more and more unfit for human living."
It pointed out that "children are starving. Families are forcibly displaced. People are terrified," affirming that with the large-scale Israeli assault happening now, "political will and decision-making is needed more than ever."
The UN agency's comments come as civilian casualties continue to rise, infrastructure is decimated, and basic services collapse under sustained Israeli bombardment. International aid agencies have repeatedly called for a ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access, warning that time is running out to prevent an even greater catastrophe.
