August 3: a national and global day of solidarity with Gaza and prisoners

RAMALLAH, August 3, 2025 (WAFA) – Palestinians across the homeland and diaspora are commemorating Sunday, August 3, as a national and global day of solidarity with Gaza and Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

The day is dedicated to opposing genocide, mass starvation, settler colonialism, and forced displacement, while resisting the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestinians in all areas of their existence.

Across the West Bank, mass rallies and public demonstrations are expected, alongside a partial general strike from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., following a call issued by the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces.

The National Committee for the August 3 Initiative stated that the day serves as a renewed opportunity to reclaim the moral, humanitarian, and popular voice in the face of continuing Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

It called the initiative a vital stand to revive global conscience and reaffirm shared human values that are under severe threat amid the ongoing war of genocide and starvation in Gaza. The committee stressed that August 3 is a platform to amplify the Palestinian call for justice and align it with the voices of freedom-seeking people around the world.
