UNRWA urges immediate, unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza

NEW YORK, May 30, 2025 (WAFA) — The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued an urgent appeal to allow the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, as the humanitarian catastrophe deepens amid ongoing Israeli military aggression and a total blockade now in its third month.

In a statement issued Friday, UNRWA revealed that its warehouse in Amman, Jordan — just a three-hour drive from Gaza — is fully stocked with enough aid to sustain more than 200,000 people for an entire month. The supplies include flour, food parcels, hygiene kits, blankets, and essential medical supplies, all ready for immediate delivery.

"In the UNRWA warehouse in Amman, just a three-hour drive from Gaza, we have enough supplies to sustain over 200,000 people for an entire month," the agency said, pointing to the suffocating siege imposed by Israeli authorities.

UNRWA stressed that the humanitarian needs in Gaza are massive and growing, calling for urgent international action to open border crossings and ensure a continuous and unhindered flow of aid into the besieged territory.

“Gaza needs aid at scale — an unhindered, uninterrupted flow of supplies must be allowed in,” the agency stated, underscoring the dire consequences of the Israeli blockade, which has prevented the entry of food, medicine, fuel, and humanitarian assistance since Israel sealed all crossings on March 2.
