UNRWA: Situation in northern West Bank remains extremely alarming

NEW YORK, April 4, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has warned that the situation in northern West Bank remains extremely alarming due to the continued Israeli aggression, which has led to the largest wave of displacement since the 1967 War.

UNRWA stated that the Israeli assault has resulted in systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders that have significantly impacted Palestinian families and refugee camps.

The agency added that it continues to work with its partners to provide urgent humanitarian aid, as well as psychological and social support for displaced families. In addition, UNRWA has adapted essential services, including mobile health clinics and online learning services.

Since January 21, 2025, Israeli forces have been waging a large-scale offensive on the northern West Bank, particularly the refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, Tubas, and Nablus. This ongoing assault has resulted in the killing and injuries of dozens of civilians, including children and women, while more than 40,000 people have been forcibly displaced. Hundreds of homes and vital infrastructure have been destroyed.
