RAMALLAH, February 27, 11, 2025 (WAFA) – The Detainees and Ex-Detainees   Commission said that the conditions of detainees in Shatta prison are tragic, as they are subjected to severe beatings and continuous gas spraying,

The Commission added that the food served to detainees inside Israeli custody is  raw and without salt.

It added in a statement, quoting sick detainees,  that the occupation prison administration practices medical negligence against detainees, especially sick ones.

It pointed out that detainee Walid Muslim, who has been detained since September 2024, suffers from psoriasis after his detention. Additionally, Muslim's health is deteriorating as he is not receiving any treatment despite his critical condition.

Meanwhile, the detainee Fadi Raddad is suffering from severe pain in his right shoulder and back after the prison guards assaulted him with beatings, in light of the prison administration's deliberate medical neglect and failure to provide him with the necessary treatment.

Following the lawyer’s visit, the detainees demanded that the relevant authorities provide hours in the prison and know the times for fasting and the call to prayer, especially with the approach of the month of Ramadan, in addition to providing copies of the Qur’an in the rooms, as there is one copy of the Qur’an in each room.

 The detainees also appealed to the relevant institutions to help them by allowing the prison administration to practice religious rituals during the month of Ramadan and to improve the quality of food.
