JENIN, February 11, 2025 (WAFA)- A Palestinian prisoner in Israel began today his 23rd year behind bars for resisting the occupation, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS said that Mahmoud Yousif Asfour, 46, from Jenin, completed 22 years behind bars and has entered his 23rd year.

Director of PPS in Jenin, Muntasir Samour, stated that Asfour was detained on February 11, 2003, and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Asfour’s father passed away five years ago, and the occupation prevented him from bidding him farewell.
