RAMALLAH, October, 28, 2024 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian detainees held in the Israeli occupation prisons, strongly condemning the brutal abuse they are subjected to by the occupation authorities, led by the prisoner leader Marwan Barghouti, a member of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, and the prisoner leaders.
President Abbas stressed, " What the prisoners are being subjected to in the occupation prisons comes in the context of the comprehensive aggression that our Palestinian people are being subjected to in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem."
He further affirmed that these Israeli crimes will not succeed in breaking the steadfastness of the heroic prisoners, who paid their freedom as a price for the dignity of their homeland and people.
The President called on international organizations, especially human rights organizations, to intervene immediately and carry out their responsibilities in accordance with international agreements on prisoners, to force the occupation state to stop its escalating crimes against them.
