NABLUS, Saturday, August 31, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestinians today fended off a colonists’ attack in the village of Qusra, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a human rights activist.
Fuad Hasan said that Israeli colonists mounted a large-scale attack against the houses of the villagers of Qusra, while simultaneously opening fire, triggering confrontations.
The village has been the scene of confrontations between the villagers and colonists weekly.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
