NABLUS, Saturday, June 15, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained at least five Palestinians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, according to security and local sources.
They said that the occupation forces rounded up two Palestinians and ransacked the houses of their families in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
The gun-toting soldiers muscled inside scores of houses, conducted thorough searches and interrogated the occupants, triggering confrontations in the town.
Meanwhile, the sources confirmed similar Israeli army raids into the towns of Sebastia, Beit Imrin and Nisf Jbeil, all located to the northwest of Nablus. However, none was detained.
Earlier today, in Ramallah district, the occupation forces stormed the Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah, and detained a Palestinian, identified as a resident of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli troops detained a Palestinian from the Ramallah city neighbourhood of al-Masayef.
In Hebron district, forces detained a Palestinian woman and seized her vehicle in the town of Beit Ummar.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
