RAMALLAH, Saturday, June 15, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces predawn Saturday injured two Palestinians and detained two others in separate two raids in Jalazoun refugee camp and Ramallah, according to security and medical sources.
They said that the occupation forces stormed the Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah, and detained a Palestinian, identified as a resident of the Gaza Strip, sparking confrontations.
The soldiers opened fire towards youths protesting the raid, injuring at least two.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed that its medics provided first aid treatment to a person who sustained a critical injury from a live round in the head and another who sustained injuries from the shrapnel of live bullets in the abdomen and foot.
Both casualties were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops detained a Palestinian from the Ramallah city neighborhood of al-Masayef.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
