President Abbas attends World Economic Forum special meeting in Riyadh

RIYADH, Sunday, April 28, 2024 (WAFA) – A special meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), themed Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development, kicked off today in the Saudi capital Riyadh, with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas.

President Abbas arrived in Riyadh yesterday to participate in the special meeting upon the invitation of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. During his participation in the meeting, the President is expected to meet with several heads of states, leaders, and policymakers from various countries around the world.

The two-day special meeting addresses several international topics and issues of interest aimed at discussing global cooperation and achieving sustainable economic growth. It includes numerous dialogues and discussion sessions aimed at enhancing international cooperation efforts and stimulating joint efforts to innovate sustainable solutions.

The meeting sessions focus on important topics such as international cooperation, growth, and energy for development, to address various current economic and geopolitical challenges, as well as to promote new partnerships.

Saudi Arabia is hosting a series of accompanying exhibitions and side events on the sidelines of the forum to highlight the latest trends and developments in several important topics, including sustainability, innovation, and culture.

These accompanying events and exhibitions will also highlight the unprecedented historical transformation taking place in the Kingdom, and its significant economic growth under the Saudi Vision 2030 and its ambitious projects aimed at achieving comprehensive economic transformation and enhancing the Kingdom's position as a global investment destination.
