Israel detained 8,455 Palestinians from the West Bank after October 7th, says Commission

RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 25, 2024 (WAFA) – The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society said that the number of Palestinians detained after October 7th, 2023, rose to more than 8,455.

They explained, in a joint statement issued today, that the Israeli occupation forces detained at least 12 citizens from the West Bank, including a child and former detainees, from yesterday evening until Thursday morning.

The arrests took place mainly in Tulkarm Governorate, as well as in the Ramallah, Hebron, and Jerusalem governorates.

During the arrest campaigns, the occupation forces continue to carry out widespread raids and abuse, and attacks against detainees and their families, sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes.

The arrests include those who were detained from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.
