Pesidency denounces statements made by US Representative regrading Palestine's full UN membership

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 (WAFA) – The Presidency expressed its denunciation over statements made by US Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, in which she affirmed that  “the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations would not help to reach a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.”

Greenfield voiced her rejection over gaining Palestine full state membership at the United Nations.

The official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that the stability of Palestine is the only gateway that leads to stability in the region and the world, noting that the State of Palestine obtained membership in the United Nations General Assembly as an observer in 2012 with an overwhelming majority.

Rudeineh stressed that the Palestinian people have the right to obtain full membership, saying that Israeli has failed to implement Resolutions 181 and 194, which conditioned Israel’s membership in the United Nations on its acceptance of the implementation of the Security Council resolution regarding the existence of an Arab state, and it has not implemented what it has pledged so far.

He affirmed that the Palestinian presidency voiced its condemnation over the American positions that threaten to use the veto on April 18, 2024, which calls into question the credibility of the United States as a result of its continued adoption of reckless Israeli positions,

The presidency also strongly denounced the brutal Israeli aggression waged against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, which claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.

Abu Radaienh also held the US administration the full responsible for Israeli policies that violate all resolutions of international legitimacy.
